News about books.... and other things.....
You've probably never read Cotton Mather - probably never wanted to - but he was a seminal figure in American literature, so you probably feel just a bit guilty about never reading him. Here's a quick and relatively painless way to assuage such guilt - read Mather's brief (and somewhat interesting) writing on Captain Phips and the Spanish Wreck.
Our current project - Frost’s Laws and By-Laws of American Society.
Everyone with an interest in books is talking about Amazon's Kindle e-reader. It's interesting, but personally, we like dusty, heavy old books.
We've recently added Lafcadio Hearn's Books and Habits to our website; excellent reading, very thought-provoking. One wonders whether we've actually progressed or regressed since 1922....
Recent addition to our website: The Works of H P Lovecraft. Pretty cool, yes?
Got the urge to go somewhere wild? You'll enjoy reading Robert W Service's The Spell of the Yukon.
Like poems about cigars? (We know - who doesn't?) Then you'll like Rudyard Kipling's The Betrothed.
You can always visit our online bookstore.
